Worn Again: Jennifer's Oscar gown remodeled

Not to beat a dead awards horse, but very few people found "Dreamgirls" Jennifer Hudson's Oscar gown anything to phone home about. The brown gown/ metallic bolero was criticized as being A) so not her; B) way too small (Can you say back fat?) ; and C) resembling a "Star Trek: Voyager" uniform. But seeing the gown modeled at yesterday's Beverly Hills Saks Fifth Avenue's Oscar de la Renta fashion show/luncheon, the applause made it clear that the only thing wrong with the dress/jacket was that it had been put on someone who was simply not the size of a runway model. And whose fault was that? Not Jennifer's. It was "Vogue" stylemeister Andre Leon Talley who did his client a huge disservice by insisting she walk the red carpet in his GOC (gown of choice) that day and probably gave her the lame advice to "work those pockets."
