As I predicted, Angelina Jolie will be sporting a custom-made St. John gown to the Golden Globes on Monday. Of course, I predicted that she would wear it to last year's Globes. But hey, it still feels good to be right. Even twelve months later.
According to WWD, the house is frantically working on two dresses, one gray and one black, to make Angie happy. Apparently, Jolie is contractually bound to wear St. John, although not all the time. Remember they are paying her a buttload of bucks (at a rumored $12 mill, she's the highest paid model in fashion history) to pose for their fashion ads. There had to be more to that mega-contract than just a print presence.
WWD's super style sleuths report that the St. John designers and fitters drove up from the Irvine, Calif., headquarters for Jolie's tres private fitting yesterday in Beverly Hills. Little Shiloh was said to be present, but did not voice a fashion opinion.
Can't wait to see Angie and Brad simmering on the Globes red carpet Monday. Bet this is gonna fog up all those brand new 42-inch plasma screens around the globe. Does this make it more likely that Brad's gonna win Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Babel?" My sources say yes. In fact, don't be surprised if "Babel" wins Best Film too.
