No, Angelina Jolie is not crying on her way to jail the way Paris Hilton was. C'mon, people. This is St. Angelina we're talking about. The humanitarian/award-winning actress/fashion icon/mom is on location in Chicago shooting "Wanted," one of her many exciting film projects after the disappointing box office performance of "A Mighty Heart."
Not to worry. Rest assured she'll get a nomination or two for her portrayal of Mariane Pearl during the 2008 awards season, if only so she and Brad Pitt will spice up a few red carpets. But right now, she's busy finishing up "Wanted," a thriller based on a graphic novel by J.G. Jones and Mark Millar, which has been filming in and around Prague, including on the legendary Charles Bridge.
In "Wanted," Jolie stars with Morgan Freeman and James McAvoy, who plays the son of an assassinated hit man who gets trained to follow in his father's bloody footsteps. Interestingly, in the source material, Angie's character was a dude. Thank God they changed that!
Next up for the very busy mom of four? Well, there's a seductive voice of a monster in Beowulf," the voice of a tigress in "Kung Fu Panda," a lead role in Clint Eastwood's "The Changeling" and the role of Dagny Taggart in "Atlas Shrugged."
I'm not sure if the latter is a marvelous bit of Hollywood casting or enough to make Ayn Rand turn over in her grave.
Hey, is there anyone else out there who doesn't believe any of those recent magazine headlines about Angie throwing a glass of wine on Brad during an argument over presidential candidates? Seriously. No one could get that worked up about John Edwards.
