Esteemed "Vogue" editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley - wearing what appears to be a seriously depressed possum on his head, a family of minks around his neck and a pair of oven mitts - was spotted hanging out with "Little Miss Trailer Park" Britney Spears at the Baby Phat Fall 2007 collection on Friday, Feb 2, in New York’s Roseland Ballroom. No question that Andre, the new voice of Oscar fashion for the '07 Oscars, may boost ratings for the Academy Awards pre-show “The Road to the Oscars.” But can he also rescue Britney’s flagging fashion image? "He's a good fashion father figure," says Kelly Cutrone of People's Revolution. "It definitely helped Britney to be seen with him." Just call him Pater Andre.
Frankly, Big A hasn’t that great a job with Mariah Carey, his other frequent stylee. And he’s probably too busy for Miss Brit what with his other big styling gig; dressing “Dreamgirls” Oscar nominee Jennifer Hudson for her big day. Which seems like a pretty obvious conflict of interest to his Oscar '07 arbiter of taste gig. What's he gonna say to Jennifer on the arrivals red carpet, "Honey, you look like Hell in a handbasket." I don't think so.
