Pssst! Wanna buy Ali Larter's face?

Ailar_2

Ali Larter had a Body Parts auction! First, she sold her hair to Dove Hair Care, vowing to use their products and do her own hair on Emmy night, to make a stand for  "real beauty." Read this and laugh. Now she's sold her face to Dior.

On Emmy night, makeup artist Mai Quynh (what? Ali's not doing her own Emmy makeup, like she's supposedly doing her Emmy hair?) will use Dior Beauty products on the "Heroes" hottie. So far, it remains to be seen how this latest cosmetic endorsement will be spun as another heroic stand for "truth in beauty."

Ellenpomp_tony_14485668_600Dior also bought face space on another chunk of Emmy virgin territory - "Ugly Betty" star America Ferrera - and they've aligned themselves with Ellen Pompeo of "Grey's Anatomy." Coincidentally, Pompeo (and her boyfriend) were recently whisked off to Paris to attend John Galliano's Dior couture collection held at Versailles. Of course, that romantic trip had nothing to do with her using Dior makeup at the Emmys and I'm sure it won't impact her Emmy gown choice either.

Unproven actresses are now prime Hollywood real estate. Today's ones-to-watch are becoming well-paid walking billboards for cosmetics, hair care, designer clothing, shoes, accessories, and fragrances before they've even given a critically acclaimed performance.

During the Spring '08 fashion shows in New York this week, young actresses such as Amanda Peet, Ginnifer Goodwin, Brittany Snow, Demi Moore (hey, what's she doing in this list?), Maggie Gyllenhaal and newcomer Sophia Bush are frantically positioning themselves with fashion designers/companies to wear their creations/products during the upcoming awards season.

Of course, no one could be happier about this Celebrity Body Parts Market than the publicists, attorneys, agents and managers who get a nice cut from their client's endorsement deals that can bring in from several hundred thousand to several million dollars. That's why this lucrative body parts market is growing so rapidly and why it will never go away.

Can you imagine one of those folks advising a young actress client NOT to sell off bits of their bodies for endorsement deals because it makes them look like easy-cheesy Product Hoes? Ain't gonna happen.
