Do Russell and Christian have a date with Oscar?

Christian_alexa_14652050_600_2

Finally, real actors. It's safe to say that you'll never see Christian Bale or Russell Crowe, the stars of director James Mangold's new epic western, "3:10 to Yuma," making the scene at Les Deux, hanging at the Polaroid Malibu Beach House or wrecking a car on Robertson after a liquid lunch at the Ivy. These guys are serious actors. Watch the video below to see Christian at last night's Westwood premiere talk about why he took the role in "Yuma," where he first met Russell and how he feels about Oscar buzz for his two critically hailed '07 films, "Rescue Dawn" and "Yuma."

Even though he's super serious about his craft, a relaxed Russell joked around on the "Yuma" red carpet last night. Asked what his favorite "Yuma" scene was, he was gently chided by Danielle, his size 0 pretty blonde wife. "I haven't seen the film yet!" she protested. Russell gently cupped his big ol' bear hands over her tiny ears and said, "The scene where I throw Peter Fonda over the cliff." Crowe, who appears with Denzel Washington and Josh Brolin in Ridley Scott's new film, "American Gangster," due out in November, also has two more projects with his "Gladiator" producer/director. He'll star in "Bodies of Lies," based on a novel by David Ignatius, also starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and in "Nottingham," a Robin Hood/Maid Marian/Sheriff of Nottingham love-triangle tale. And yes, he's the sheriff. Find out why Russell loves to work with Ridley -- and see Danielle's cute ear-cupping -- in this video interview.

Roving retards have taken over the movies and the LA Times. They
deserve each other.

Enough of the stinking remakes already.

The interviewer is talking too much. We don't want to hear her... I want to hear Russell.

so THAT is the cruel little woman who ridiculed Christie Brinkley's little daughter!

Who was the idiot woman doing this interview? Snead??? " He looks really good on a horse"? puleeze....pander pander...It's really interesting when the entertainment reporter gets overwhelmed by a star. Not only does this reporter tell us "it's a helluva good film" pander pander, but she continues by asking dumb questions. It's always great to watch Crowe, because he does not suffer fools gladly. I think he put up with this idiotic review ("I'm going back to see it on Saturday says the gal reporter-like who cares what you are doing?) because his past bad behavior got so much press and almost a bit of jail time.

Is it really so hard to ask an excellent actor a few decent probing questions about a really good film?

Given what we get from these reporters who are trying so hard to either impress or become best friends with celebrities in a 90 second interview--its a wonder all of our heads don't implode. I give this interview a -10 and if this reporter is Snead---it answers a lot of questions

Wow, Elizabeth Snead is much more attractive than I thought. Paris, Brittany, Lindsay -- move aside.
