Is Lindsay Lohan the new Robert Downey, Jr.?
Is Lindsay Lohan the new Robert Downey Jr.?
Remember in the late '90s, when the actor just could not get -- and stay -- sober, and was regularly arrested for possessing firearms and drugs (speed, cocaine and heroin) and missing his court-imposed drug tests? He was a talented, total mess. Then he got fired from "Ally McBeal" and spent a year in rehab. Now he's married, with a smart, successful wife, a family and a career. Click here for his drug-past details. Then knock on wood.
We can only hope something works for Lindsay, who has gotten her second DUI citation (hello, wake-up call?) in three months. A good start would be yanking her out of the Hollywood Scene for more than a one-month stay in a ritzy rehab. A solid year out of the limelight just might save her life. Let's hope she gets the same judge Downey got.
Meanwhile, Lindsay's lawyer, Blair Berk, has released a statement about her celebrity client, who was booked this morning on suspicion of DUI, possession of cocaine, transporting a narcotic into a custody facility and driving on a suspended license:
"Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease. Since leaving Promises rehab facility on July 13, Lohan has been wearing an electronic alcohol-monitoring bracelet on her ankle. She had it on even as she hit parties and nightclubs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
"Throughout this period, I have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies," Berk said.
"Unfortunately, late [Monday] I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care."
Yeah, hey, that SCRAM bracelet worked really well, didn't it?

She should change the name of her new movie from "I Know Who Killed Me" to "I Know Who Killed My Career, Me".

Right on Busted. They really shouldn't be acknowledged at all. They probably wouldn't even make decent whores. They could fuck up a wet dream.

I feel a bit sad for her, isn't her dad an alcaholic, these young actors always seem to have the worst parents, they have problems with substances and are surrounded by people who are offering whatever to them, I don't have much willpower myself but then I don't get the constant attention and freebies these folks must have to contend with
I know ultimately she is responsable for herself and she doesn't seem to have much respect for anybody but it is a bit sad, she's a beautiful girl.....

WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT WHAT THESE LITTLE BITCHES DO. I AM SICK OF HAVING THEM SHOVED DOWN MY THROAT WHEN ALL I WANT IS THE REAL NEWS, WHICH THESE BITCHES WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER FILL ANY TIME SPACE YOU FEEL THE NEED TO "FILL"....GIVE AMERICA A BREAK AND GET THESE STUPID ASSES OUT OF OUR LIVES....WE DON'T WANT TO SEE THEM OR ANYTHING REMOTELY RELATED TO THEIR EMPTY PATHETIC LIVES....TELL THEM ALL TO JUMP OFF A CLIFF...THAT, I WOULD WATCH AND MAYBE EVEN CHEER FOR THEM....OTHERWISE, FUCK OFF

Ya know Elizabeth should I call ya Liz..
I will be surprised if you post my comment about Lindsay Lohan. Since it goes against all of your, and most of the countrys opinion...Hollywood generating most of it, thanks to people like you. Once again I just want to stress that addiction is a disease. So instead of clapping that someone has failed maybe you should take a much deeper look at all of it. Its much bigger than Lindsay Lohan. Maybe you should think about posting comments like mine. ...that understand addiction and the powerless over it. I don't think you will because it seems that you are more intent on embracing the bad because that's a story. So sad. Thats why our country is so messed up and the rest of the world just laughs....so sad. Were supposed to help the sick not push them further into it.

I am so sick of all of the people that gloat about others misfortunes. Especially when that person is in the public limelight. Is it jealosy or fear. I'm never quite sure. Is it our culture that gives us gratification when someone thats doing better than ourselves fails...so sad. If anyone knows anything about addiction than maybe they would be a little more compassionate and not judge. Although I think that most of you have experienced addiction in some form or other, if not yourself..a family member..a friend etc. Just cause someone has money and is famous doesn't make them different than the homeless guy on the street or our own brother. Look inside yourself before you judge another. Everyone deserves our love..thats the problem in our society...

I don't remember LL getting an Oscar nomination. Nevertheless, quite sad and like Mr. Downey, until she can prove she can stay clean long-term she won't be getting any new projects; no one is going to insure a production starring someone who may wind up in jail during shooting.

She does not get it but I hope she lives long enough to get it.

I 'm with Frankie 100% they all need to be black listed from Hollywood. We the people need to let the entertainment big wigs know that this sets too, too much of a bad example for our teens. We need more Mandy Moore's and Hayden Panettiere's and less of these trashy girl's with that can't even spell.

Lohan's attorney, Blair Berk, is a woman, not a man.

Big difference - Downey'd had 15 years worth of credits under his belt and an ability and willingnes to play character rolls. Hollywood will not be nearly so kind to a less-proven ingenue.
It'll be years before anyone insurance company will underwrite her again. Hope she's saved enough sheckels to finance an Indie

I guess the only way they can get attention is like this --- and since they keep making headlines, the attention just reinforces bad behavior. Where have all the real celebrities gone? I guess I'm old but these people are pathetic and uninteresting.

Uh, I wouldn't blame it all on the SCRAM ankle bracelet.

Justin really isn't in the news for drugs and alcohol...he seems like he has his life on straight but for all these young girls who think it's cool to drink and drive and to do drugs and drive...they are just stupid...and they need to stop....they only care about themselves...I only hope that it doesn't take one of them killing an innocent bystander for them to wake up and realize that what they are doing is not only harmful to themselves but also to the public.

These bimbos...Lindsay, Britney, Justin, Paris...should all be boycotted from the public and the media shouldn't give them anymore air time or attention...they're all pathetic creatures of bad habits....
