Scarlett's been a busy girl

Scarlettjo_browa_12519807_600

Wanna get in Scarlett Johansson's pants? Yeah, you and every other hot actor/musician in Hollywood.  But you're gonna have to get in line...

at Nordstrom (second floor) in The Grove, LA on Thursday, March 8 (7-9 PM) to see Scarlett celebrating - ta-da -  the debut of Scarlett "Hearts" Rbk, her new athletic-inspired sportswear line.

Color me impressed. The award-winning actress is not only starring in two new films  - "The Nanny Diaries" and "The Other Boleyn Girl" - but she also appears in Justin Timberlake's "What Comes Around" music video, and is releasing her first album, "Scarlett Sings Tom Waits." AND she designing sportswear?
Oh, there will be a surprise announcement Thursday night. Spoiler alert: Scarlett is donating 2000 pairs of Reebok footwear to the Soles4Soles campaign which sends shoes to refugees in the Sudan and surrounding areas. The Spring Cleaning/Million Pair March campaign wants to gather one million shoes and raise $1 million dollars for the cause. Other celebs helping out: Don Cheadle, Jessica Alba, Parker Posey, Susan Lucci, Jeff Probst and Melissa Rivers. According to Giveshoes.org, there are  1.52 million pairs of unwanted shoes lying in closets in the US. Frankly, I think they're low-balling it. There's at least half a million Jimmy Choos in Paris Hilton's closet alone.

How long do we have to live on the white sugar of information? From Paris to Scarlett-the-shill to on-top-of-bald Britney, aren't we are just a little tired of celeb-dumb? We at www.screenmancer.tv actually have news, reviews and other great entertainment yadda that is a 10 on a scale of one to 10 (being meaningful). Ever since the AP ran a story on a story of why it was blacking out Paris, Big Media in general is rotting our mental teeth with their incessant white sugar non-nutritional newsfeeds. And now we have a Scarlett-who-cares piece on shoes? Shoe cares... how about a little substance to go with the style of things here? Surely LAT can sink its editorial teeth into something more than a sole-less Scarlett story -- Scarlett, who before she was a wack hack stacked capitalist selling everything including her unremarkable butt on Vanity Fair's recent cover edited by Tom Ford, used to be a decent acrtress. If you are tired of this kind of writing, avoid Big Media.

LAT, try to take us readers somewhere behind the lunacy, somewhere beyond the reign of drivel.

And to think that Ed Crane had an auto accident trying to prevent Scarlett from going down on him.
