Will cuts up on the red carpet
Why does Tom Cruise love his New Best Friend Will Smith? Because he's funny! When over-the-top Will acts silly, it's amusing, not embarrassing. Like here on the SAG carpet presenting the new Jada Pinkett-Smith life-size scowling wife Barbie doll. If Tom did this with Katie, it just wouldn't work. Comedy is about proportions. Tom is shorter than Katie so he would have to be the mini-husband Ken doll, see, and he wouldn't get it. Just wouldn't get it. Maybe if Tom hangs out with Will more, like he did at the Santa Barbara Festival on Saturday, some of Will's comedic timing will rub off on him.
Photo Credits: Voila! My creation! Will jokes with Jada at the SAGs Sunday. The couple spent Saturday night up in Santa Barbara at the film festival where Will was presented with his Modern Master award by their NBSF (new best scientologist friend) Tom Cruise. "Honey, it's Tom calling. Yes, again. I know, I know. I'll tell him you're busy. Hey, Tom.. Yeah, no, Will's not home. Yeah, Saturday night was so fun. Thanks again for presenting. I'll have him call you when he gets home."

Back to Will, well, HE's funny! Personally, I've noticed a slightly maniacal quality to his eyes and laughter in Tom Cruise. I think it stems from getting to a point not unlike Sylvester Stallone where he has to catch up to the (unwarranted) adulation and has very little substance in his character to counterweigh that. Stallone took a humble approach, corrected his speech, learned big words, showed his mother publically so we'd understand the insurmountable odds... Tom Cruise took a nasty but safe shot at his friend Brooke Shields as a platform for his dubious grasp of adult matters. I just think Tom's problem is that, like many actors, there's just not that much there in 3D. That's my opinion.

Dear Sandy,
Actually, I'm spectacularly impotent. Thanks for noticing!

First of all Vjee, you are a moron. Hence my name. Second of all, you dont "KNOW" Will and Jada, unless perhaps you are there butler or chauffeur?

OK Gorgeous! You must be spectacular...or then again...you are probably impotent! JEALOUSY is written all over your comments about the hunk Tom Cruise, a man who has everything and my husband is 5'4 inches...all male. Wouldn't trade him for the world- or a tall jerk who can't offer all the sweetness and kindness of Tom. Lay off, pick on someone your own size. Note: The tall beauty Nicole Kidman was proud to be on his arm and in his life. Tom has it all.

I just read the E. Snead gets to OK the comments which appear after she had bad mouthed someone who is probably prettier than her and makes more money. That's not exactly democratic, but beating up celebrities has always been a rather peculiar sport and I don't really have the stomach for it. However, it would be great if I had a column where I could go and download on all of these so-called entainment reporters who b tch and moan about celebrities' life choices. E. Snead remind sme of those telemarkers who call into our homes and then want to challenge you when you blow them off.
We give ourselves permission to nagrag on someone just because they have money. We comfort our poor choices by saying its okay the guy made a zillion dollars last year. Except it is wrong and the karma gods are watching:))

Why is Tom Cruise's height something to be made fun of? When are people going to give the man some slack? What has he done that is anybody's business but his own? If you don't like his religious beliefs, his choice of wife, his acting--then get on with something else and stop ragging on the man.
E Snead get a life!

Will and Jada are the most adorable couple I know. I wish them much continued success and happiness. I had the pleasure of working with Will's sister Pam Smth. She was fun and witty. She is very fortunate to have family such as Will and Jada.
God Bless You and our Family,
Love and Peace
