Where's Leonardo hiding?
Where was Leonardo DiCaprio all weekend?
For an Oscar hopeful, Leo was surprisingly MIA during the weekend's pre-Globes activities, after not getting a Best Actor Critics Choice award, despite his dueling nod for "The Departed" and "Blood Diamond." And he faces another possible double nom disappointment tonight at the Globes, if Forest Whitaker's winning streak continues.
More than in past years, everyone who wanted to win anything was everywhere this weekend, despite the freeeeezing temperatures. But after the Friday night awards disappointment, Leo was only spotted at Mike Medavoy's tres exclusive gig Saturday night with "Blood Diamond" co-star Djimon Hounsou. No sign of him at the packed HBO party at the Chateau Marmont and no sightings at the BAFTA/LA tea party at the Four Seasons.
Some snoops sniff that Leo was tired out from his Thursday night FREEBY FEST, documented by the indefatigueable TMZ.com. Frankly, this report just doesn't sound like Leo-like behavior. Say it isn't so, Leo. And if it is, don't do that again. I know you want to impress your new girlfriend/gorgeous model Bar Rafael (what guy wouldn't?) with trinkets, but hold on to your principles and don't lose your ethics.
So the big question is, will Leo win tonight? And more importantly, what parties will he hit if he wins (or loses)? Will he support the E! Network Green Party, linked to the Environmental Media Association? Word is the Robinsons-May bash will be an eco-friendly affair, with gourmet organic food, recycled party
materials and decorations, set in a landscape of sustainable plants and
flowers.
And check this out, Tree People will plant a
tree for each guest. Tree People has been
helping the Los Angeles area for more than three decades, helping nature heal
L.A. by offering sustainable solutions to urban ecosystem problems. You gotta show up there, Leo. Think of the trees!
