HBO packs 'em in pre-Globes party

Zzatmosphere_011306_11

Okay, its Monday afternoon. Here's  my final pre-Globes party report -- Saturday night's annual HBO star-studded pre-Globebash at the Chateau Marmont -- before I'm off to the actual awards myself.

Because I'm attending the actual awards/dinner this year (woo-hoo! for the first time in my 10 years of covering this puppy), I won't be able to report during the show on who's wearing what. So keep an eye out tomorrow for my behind-the-velvet rope party poop and fashion reports. No blogging for me tonight. My fancy ass purse is so small I can't even fit a Crackerjack prize, much less a Crackberry in there. And if you see a frazzled blonde sucking her stomach in wearing a Kevan Hall lavender satin gown, that's not Renee Zellweger, that's me.

Now about that HBO party. Talk about rubbing elbows with the stars. It was SO crowded Saturday night that by 11 pm, I was rubbing way more than that against all the famous guests there as I tried to maneuver around the hotel dining area, lobby and outside heat lamped sofa and bar areas.

Among those I squeezed around and in between: Helen Mirren, Jeremy Irons, Toni Collette, Bill Paxton, Adam Beach, Peter Berg, Joy Bryant, Sacha Baron Cohen, Emanuell Chriqui, Rebecca De Mornay, Amanda Demme, Kevin Dillon, Karen Duffy, Tracee Ross, Jerry Ferrara, Stephen Frears, Vincent Gallo, Gina Gershon, Vanessa Getty, Liz Goldwyn, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Ginnifer Goodwin, Daphne Guinness, Terence Howard, Rachel Hunter, Angela Janklow, Dani Janssen, Michael Keaton, Jaime King, Chris Klein, Ali Larter, Hugh Laurie, Justin Long, Nia Long, Natasha Lyonne, Ann Magnuson, Bill Maher, Taryn Manning, Debi Mazar, Monet Mazur, Rose McGowan, Stavros Niarchos (what, no Paris?), Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen, Julia Ormond, Guy Oseary, Anna Paquin, Matthew Perry, Harold Perrineau, Aidan Quinn, Perry Reeves, Brett Ratner, Chris Rock, Robert Rodriguez, Amy Sacco,  Marisa Tomei, Michelle Trachtenberg, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Ivanka Trump, Marisa Tomei, James Tupper, Christine Vachon, Francesco Vezzoli, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Matthias Vriens, Mark Wahlberg, Forest Whitaker, Robbie Williams and old raisin face (as dubbed by her former client, Nicole Richie) herself, Rachel Zoe.

Here's some party pics, all courtesy of Patrick McMullen.

The power trio: our indefatiqueable Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, LA's hottest hostess Dani Janssen and prez of HBO Films, Colin Callender.

The Queen and her faithful subject. Helen Mirren shares a tender moment of support with pal and "Elizabeth" co-starJeremy Irons.

The shockingly handsome and incredibly funny Sacha Baron Cohen whom we adore is forced to chat briefly with exotic dancer-lover and all around creepo Bill Maher whom we like not so much.

HBO's tiniest party guests: Mary Kate and Ashley (or is that Ashley and Mary Kate?) looked like little Hollywood dolls or little girls playing dress up in Mommy's clothes. Enough with the bleached out blonde hair. No one can tell you guys apart anymore. And that's not a good thing.

Quit being harsh on the hollywood freaks! They're just people like you and me so give them a break!

No one can tell MK and Ash apart anymore? That's the easiest thing in the world. Ashley left, MK right. They look compleatly different.
